Transitional Russian Navy dagger. One similar in design and materials was traced to a Merchant Marine who traded for it from a WWII Russian Officer. Ivory grip is in excellent condition with only one large and one small age crack. Scabbard is covered with the heavy enamel, similar to the Russian eggs. The hanger rings are gone to time but you can see where they were. Blade is etched to look like Damascus, but I doubt if it is.
Very rare WWII era naval dagger with characteristics of both the Tzar's daggers and the larger Soviet models. Looks like very early edition with ivory grip. No markings on scabbard or Pommel. Rings were removed from scabbard. This could be WWII vintage..
