Polish Model 1954 Air Force Pilots Dagger-Silver Plate No Maker. Blade #14118. Dagger is 13 5/8", 145/8" with scabbard. The dagger has a 91/8" nickel plated diamond cut blade. This is an mid period silver plated model. All fittings are silver plated white metal. From my observation, the 1970's change from silver plate to nickel plate took place at about #15,000. The scabbard is covered with black leather. The leather at the upper scabbard fitting is "scrunched up". My best guess is water damage based on the stain in that small area, There is chipping to the grip at the reverse ferule. This does not affect the display. The dagger is a tight fit to the scabbard. Much of the silver plating is gone with time but this is an excellent example of a rare silver plated Pilots dagger. Note the large eagle without crown on the pommel and the pilots eagle on the upper scabbard fitting.
