MODEL 1952 MODENA ACADEMY CADETS DAGGER. Maker-Elli TURCO, Napoli. Dagger is 12 1/2 long, 15 3/8 with scabbard. Grip is mother of pearl with two floral designed side bands, a lions head pommel, and a ferrel with leaf designs. The cross guard ends are in the form of lions paws and the cross guard has a rifle and cannon on the obverse and arrows and banners on the reverse. The blade is 8, nickel plated, with a blunt tip. The scabbard is gold washed brass with the writing VNA ACIBS at the top of the scabbard, a coat of arms between the scabbard bands, and floral designs on the scabbard bands and at the tip. The reverse upper scabbard has a crowned eagle.  Jim #65
