MODEL 1923 FIGHTING KNIFE. No Maker Mark. Knife is 13 3/8" with scabbard and features a 9" bayonet style blade which has been blued. This is also referred to as the Knife for Officers and NCO''s. This knife is identical to the model 1889 except there is no bayonet slot. Many model 1923's were originally model 1889's where the bayonet locking mechanism has been removed and filled with metal. This example is from the factory. Grip is smooth wood. The scabbard is identical to the model 1889
